Chrome press-on nails

Chrome press-on nails are finished with mirror, holographic or magnetic cat-eye pigments that change as your hand moves. All three here are medium almond: Liquid Silver ($64), holographic silver with raised mirror-chrome lines; Chrome Thorn ($65), mulberry cat-eye with silver thorns; and Midnight Oil ($68), black glitter with chrome line work and a silver moon.

The line work on all three is painted by hand with a detail brush, so it reads as drawing rather than decal. Each set ships from Baltimore in 3–5 business days.

How to choose chrome press-ons

Which chrome set suits which occasion?

Liquid Silver is the everyday one: holographic silver goes with most outfits and most jewelry, and each nail carries a single clear crystal rather than a cluster. Chrome Thorn is for evenings and dark clothes. Midnight Oil is black glitter for people who own one color.

Will the crystals and raised lines catch on things?

A little. Liquid Silver has raised mirror-chrome line work and a crystal on every nail, and Midnight Oil carries star studs and iridescent crystals over its glitter, so both have texture you will feel on knitwear. Chrome Thorn skips rhinestones entirely and puts all of its effect into the cat-eye shine.

What size should I order?

Whichever kit matches your nail-bed width, since all three are medium almond. Check the chart on the sizing page and pick Petite, Standard or Wide, or add Custom fit for $12, sculpted from ten measurements and kept on file. Want cat-eye in another color, or chrome on another shape? A custom set runs $80–$120, with a mockup within 48 hours.

Questions about chrome sets

What is the difference between chrome and cat-eye nails?
Chrome is a mirror-like metallic finish, like the raised line work on Liquid Silver. Cat-eye uses magnetic pigment pulled with a magnet, so the shine gathers in a band that moves as you tilt your hand, like Chrome Thorn.
Does chrome rub off press-on nails?
It is sealed in rather than sitting on top: every set gets two top coats and a final cure over the chrome, so day to day you touch top coat, not pigment. A nail file is the exception, so never file across the painted surface.
Is holographic the same as chrome?
Not quite. Holographic pigment splits light into a rainbow as your hand moves, while mirror chrome reflects like polished metal. Liquid Silver uses both: a holographic silver base with raised mirror-chrome line work on top.
