What's in the box
Ten hand-painted nails plus four spare tips, twenty-four adhesive tabs, a bottle of nail glue, an alcohol prep wipe, a mini file and a paper sizing strip. Everything arrives in a reusable clamshell box so the set has somewhere to live between wears.
How it's made
Reads flat black indoors and oil-slick in sunlight. The crescent and the star studs are sculpted in place in gel, and the crystals are set in gel rather than glued, so they do not pop off in a coat pocket. The silver line work is drawn by hand with a detail brush over a glitter base built in thin layers.
Wear time and reuse
Tabs give 3–7 days. Glue gives 2–3 weeks. To remove, soak in warm soapy water for 10 minutes and lift gently from the cuticle side, then buff the adhesive off the back. One set is good for 5+ wears.
Shipping and returns
Ships free from Baltimore in 3–5 business days by USPS Ground Advantage with tracking, anywhere in the US. In a hurry? Express (USPS Priority Mail) is $12 and arrives 1–2 business days after it ships. There's no storefront or pickup, so every set arrives by mail. Because each set is hand-painted for one person we can't take returns, but if the fit is wrong we'll re-size the set once at no charge.

About the set

What's on the Midnight Oil set?

Midnight Oil is for people who own one color and wear it well. Deep black glitter, a little brushed silver, and crystals scattered like someone knocked over a jewelry box in the dark. Indoors it reads plain black. Step into sunlight and it goes oil-slick.

Nail by nail

  • Base, every nail: deep black glitter, fine rather than chunky.
  • Thumbs: smoky circles, gray on one hand and dusty mauve on the other, under fine silver line work, with two iridescent crystals each.
  • Index fingers: the loud pair. A brushed silver four-point star runs edge to edge on one; a brushed silver crescent moon, flanked by three crystals, sits on the other.
  • Middle fingers: a sculpted silver star stud beside a smoky planet, violet on one hand and bronze on the other.
  • Ring fingers: loops of hand-drawn silver line over smoke, finished with pearl beads.
  • Pinkies: a silver nugget stud and a pair of iridescent crystals each.
  • Crystals throughout are set at different heights, so the light finds them one at a time.

How it wears

Medium almond is long enough to look deliberate and short enough to type, cook and dig for your keys. The crescent and the four-point star are the biggest raised pieces, so the index fingers take a day to get used to. Because the crystals are set in gel instead of glued, a coat pocket will not steal them. If glitter usually reads as a craft project to you, this one reads as night sky. It suits gigs, late dinners, winter in general and any day spent entirely in black.
